Inside this installation
Alfred and Ed Ruff of EC Ruff Marine walk through a six-zone Arid Series 4 installation in a yacht’s engine room. The boat has port and starboard bilges plus a center bilge divided into four areas. The video follows the central unit’s mounting, intake tubing preparation, routing and labeling, pickup positions, power connection and discharge arrangement used on this boat.
The team also discusses service access, avoiding tubing damage and using zone hour meters to decide where to inspect when water keeps returning. Runtime is a clue for inspection, not a diagnosis by itself.
Use the walkthrough to understand the installation sequence and the space needed for access. Follow the current manual for the unit being installed and review vessel-specific arrangements with your installer. Keep conventional bilge pumps operational alongside residual-water removal.
